When purchasing or selling a house, you want to find a realtor who is confident in the industry. That’s Winslow Carroll. Carroll comes from a family that has been in the real estate business for three generations, operating Carroll Realty since 1981.
Upon first meeting Carroll, don’t let the youthful face fool you; he means business and is easy to talk to. “I grew up on the islands and in Mount Pleasant,” said Carroll. “My entire family, on my father’s side, has done real estate. It’s in my blood.”
Carroll got serious about his career in real estate while attending the College of Charleston. “CofC didn’t have a full degree in real estate. They only offered a few classes,” he explained. Taking night classes during his senior year, Carroll was determined to get his license. Graduating from CofC in 2016, Carroll received inspiration from Dan Henderson, an agent who specialized in commercial real estate, which gave him the motivation he needed to go full-time by 2017.
Carroll paid his dues at his family’s agency by cleaning their vacation properties and working at the front desk. “I did those side jobs to make some extra cash when I first started off,” he said.
Although Carroll is a third-generation realtor, he’s blazing his own trail and selling real estate his way. Using old school fundamental marketing combined with the new school era of social media advertising, Carroll truly understands his market. He had a great year in 2023, selling five homes.
East of the Cooper is Carroll’s domain, but he can sell everywhere in Charleston. When he isn’t selling houses, in his free time he likes to play soccer at the IOP Rec Center or surf. “I’m very lucky to have grown up in Charleston and the islands with my family background,” he acknowledged. “It’s a dynamic market out here and I’m loving the ride.”
