Bailey wants to keep you smiling from ear to ear with healthy teeth, gums and oral care while enjoying the wonderful weather and beautiful ocean on both Isle of Palms and Sullivan’s Island. As the only dental practice on IOP and Sullivan’s Island, Isle of Palms Family Dentistry (IOPFD) provides comprehensive family dental care as well as the most advanced treatments in cosmetic dentistry. A graduate of the University of Utah and Creighton University Dental School, Dr. Bailey and his family relocated to South Carolina where he became an associate at IOPFD in 1998. In 2001, he assumed the head proprietorship of the practice. Dr. Bailey is also an active member of the American Dental Association and the South Carolina Dental Association. Given the continued growth of Mount Pleasant, IOPFD takes pride in their island, and Dr. Bailey relayed, “I love what I do and the wonderful people I have gotten to know throughout the years, and, as a small, family-run practice, it is truly an honor and a privilege to treat all our patients.” The mission is simple: Patients come first and are given the best quality care available. Isle of Palms Family Dentistry not only treats year- round residents but also short-term and long-term new and returning visitors to IOP and SulIivan’s Island. His practice is so popular that many planning their vacations include their dental visits to his office for regular check-ups, as well By Eileen Casey as follow-up or new treatments as part of their stay on IOP and SulIivan’s Island. Patients are scheduled on what their individual needs may be, and customized service is always available. Dr. Bailey suggests that children begin dental visits around age 3, unless care is needed earlier. Along with general dentistry procedures, IOPFD offers complete and comprehensive care, including all aspects of restorative dentistry and surgical extractions, including wisdom teeth. Implant restoration from start to finish, including bone grafting and placement of implants for single-tooth restoration to complete full mouth, is also available. Dr. Bailey is originally from out west, and his team is comprised of a group of knowledgeable ladies gathered from far and wide, including local Mount Pleasant native, Judy Hollen (front desk coordinator); Connecticut native, Kim Wiggins (practice manager); Laura McNally (registered dental hygienist), hailing from Indiana; Charleston native, Julie Ledford (registered dental hygienist); Beth Doyle (registered dental hygienist), also from Connecticut; and Chris Lambert (dental assistant), originally from New Jersey. Dr. Bailey and his staff participate in continuing education on the latest dental procedures, which occasionally takes them from their beloved island, but they always return ready to assist patients with their dental needs. His enjoyment of the outdoors includes hunting and fishing, and his interest and pride in serving not only his own community but others includes two years spent in Guatemala serving a mission with his church. Isle of Palms Family Dentistry is located at 15 21st Ave. For more information, call 843-886-6461 or visit isleofpalmsfamilydentistry.com.
