Isle of Palms Winter/Spring 2019-20

It describes the land, the sea, the creeks, the people and the way of life on this little section of the Lowcountry. Though the land and sea are beautiful and an integral part of island lifestyle, it was the people that made it a magical place to grow up. People on the island put more emphasis on their friendships and why they lived here than on the inconveniences of living on the island. Once a week, an old WWII-era air raid siren was tested for the island’s volunteer fire department. There were A Day in the Life of a 12-Year-Old Officials standing outside of the City Hall on the Isle of Palms, which doubled as the island’s police and fire department.
