For “Best of Sullivan’s Island,” there were 11,800,000 results in 66 seconds. My first reaction was disbelief: How in the world could this be possible? Surfing through the results, I saw a lot of national sites such as Yelp, Priceline, TripAdvisor, Hotels.com, Airbnb, Eater, VRBO and the list goes on. What I didn’t see was a local site that reflects what residents and tourists think about Isle of Palms or Sullivan’s Island. The “Best of Mount Pleasant” produced by Mount Pleasant Magazine has grown tremendously over the past seven years. It has become a guide for newcomers, visitors and local residents.
