Fires on the beach also are against the law. The show lasts 15 to 30 minutes, depending on several factors. While there is no entertainment planned for the actual event, front beach businesses typically offer music and bands for the holiday festivities. Because potentially thousands of people visit the island over the course of the day, Tucker stressed for everyone to be respectful not only of parking and traffic signs and the fire and police departments but also of the island’s natural beauty. “Please remember to stay off the dunes, use the appropriate beach access points and be respectful of the nature on the island.
