With the upcoming opening of Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shop this spring, the Isle of Palms is about to get a whole lot cooler. While a launch date hasn’t yet been announced, the ice cream shop will open in its former location at 1400 Palm Blvd. in Ocean Park Plaza.
The brand has enjoyed a presence on the island since 2000. Franchise owner Andrew Lee opened the previous shop in 2013, yet after nine years of serving happy customers, it shuttered in 2022.
“We’ve missed this island and the community that made our original shop so special,” stated a post on the local Ben & Jerry’s Instagram account. “We’re coming back bigger and better, with a full menu featuring fresh waffle cones, cookies, brownies, milkshakes, sundaes and of course, all your favorite super-premium scoops.”
Flavors will include Ben & Jerry originals such as the new Honey Graham Latte, along with the Americone Dream, which is vanilla ice cream served with fudge-covered waffle cone pieces and a caramel swirl. Chunky Monkey is a mix of banana, fudge chunks and walnuts and Churray for Churros, a buttery cinnamon ice cream with churro pieces, is always a delight. Gimme S’more is a delicious concoction of toasted marshmallow ice cream with chocolate cookie swirls, graham cracker swirls and fudge flakes. Half Baked is made with chocolate and vanilla ice cream, gobs of chocolate chip cookie dough and fudge brownies. Phish Food is a swirl of chocolate ice cream, gooey marshmallow, caramel and fudge fish.
Alternatively, keep it simple and order an old-fashioned scoop of chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, caramel, butter pecan or coffee. And thanks to Ben & Jerry’s non-dairy oat milk selection of caramel cookie graham, chocolate chip cookie dough, mochaccino chip, strawberry cheesecake and strawberry swirl, everyone can enjoy a sweet treat.
In addition to ice cream, the Scoop Shop will offer a few sorbet options, as well as sundaes such as the banana split, which comes with a choice of toppings such as sprinkles, caramel, fruit or whipped cream. The Belgian waffle, brownie special, Dulce De-lish or hot fudge are other fun sundae choices.
Also, enjoy shakes with flavors such as Addicted to Chocolate, caramel macchiato, cookie cookie, Half Baked, mint cookies, strawberry cheesecake or create your own. Or for any occasion, you can order a customized ice cream cake with any two flavors or pick up one of Ben & Jerry’s favorite combos.
