Kids’ Corner: First day of school Do’s and Dont’s

The end of summer is approaching and you know what that means … back-to-school time! Are you nervous about school starting soon? Well, fear not. Grab your pencil box and take note of these do’s and don’ts for the first day of school.
A list of what to do and not to do on the IOP, SC's youth's first days in school 2025.DO go to bed early and get those extra zzz’s in.
DON’T stay up late the night before the first day of school.

DO have a healthy balanced breakfast to kick off the day right.
DON’T skip breakfast or eat something too sugary in the morning.

DO pick out your best outfit the night before and have it ready for you when you wake up.
DON’T wait until the early morning to choose your outfit.

DO check your backpack the night before to make sure you have everything you need for a great first day.
DON’T scramble gathering your things at the last minute to put in your backpack.

DO check the school menu to make sure you like what’s being served or pack your favorite lunchbox with a yummy meal.
DON’T forget your lunch money or lunch in the morning.

DO make sure you know where all your classes are.
DON’T get lost in the halls trying to find your classes.

DO be excited about the new friends you will make for the new school year.
DON’T feel afraid of your new teachers or classmates.

These are all the essentials to help make your first day of school your best day. Have a great school year!
