The Arkons reckon IOP is the place to be

Travis and Steve Arkon of Louisville, Kentucky, first heard about the Isle of Palms from their friends and neighbors who frequently visit the island for family vacations. The Arkons were looking for a pup-friendly vacation destination and the Isle of Palms more than fit the bill. Travis explained, “We wanted to take our puppy to the beach and knew that the island was dog-friendly. Our neighbors have been visiting for years, and their pictures were all so beautiful and they had remarkable things to say about the area.”

Travis, Steve and their yellow lab, Summer, enjoyed rooftop dining at Coconut Joe’s for not only the wonderful food and drink selections but also the panoramic ocean views and breathtaking sunsets over the Atlantic Ocean. A bonus for the Arkons was the ability to walk from their Carroll Realty condominium rental to all things Front Beach and beyond.

Travis, an executive recruiter for Humana, and Steve, a sales manager for a global packaging company, enjoy international travel for both business and pleasure. However, Travis is quick to point out that traveling internationally with their No. 1 companion, Summer, isn’t feasible, which makes traveling to the Isle of Palms even more inviting. Travis continued, “The Isle of Palms was fantastic! I would highly recommend it, especially if you’re looking for a dog-friendly destination.”

According to Travis and Steve, Summer settled into island life rather easily and relished walking on the beach and tagging along to all the dog-friendly restaurants that Charleston and the islands have to offer. She also loved playing in the ocean and greeting seagulls and other vacationers alike.

Beach yoga caught the attention of yoga instructor Travis, and she gave a glowing review of not only the island yoga choices, but also the generous exercise opportunities on the island. The Arkons eagerly divulged that they did their fair share of relaxing at the beach as well. “Sunrise to sunset, we found ourselves just immersing in all things beach and ocean-related. From beach yoga to renting bicycles to walking in the tide pools to sitting on the beach and taking in the sights, smells and sounds of the oceanfront, the Isle of Palms gave us many special memories. This was our first trip, and we definitely plan to return. We absolutely love the Isle of Palms!”

The island graciously awaits your return, Arkon family.
