veryone here at
Isle Of Palms magazIne
and
sullivan’s Island magazine
still
can’t believe it. Our publications are
now greeting people as they travel
our state in all the official South
Carolina Welcome Centers. Very few publications
receive such an honor; it’s kind of like being
greeters for the Palmetto State.
Statistics compiled by the South Carolina
Department of Tourism outline the reasons
people come to our state. It’s amazing how much
information is collected from the millions of
visitors who travel through the Welcome Centers.
Year after year, the most popular thing visitors
enjoy most about South Carolina is our beaches,
and the Isle of Palms is one of our most popular
beach destinations. Sullivan’s Island attracts
a good number of sun worshipers as well. Millions of people visit South
Carolina’s island towns.
The articles on the rich history of both islands are one reason the South
Carolina Welcome Centers wanted to distribute
Isle Of Palms Magazine
and
Sullivan’s Island Magazine
. As visitors travel through these popular Welcome
Centers, staff members are becoming more familiar with our area and are giving
more in-depth answers to questions visitors ask after reading our magazines.
Not only are we excited about our statewide distribution, but, as always,
we are pumped up about our island magazines. Published four times a year, we
pride ourselves on providing you with interesting and informative content. Our
Summer issue is no exception, starting with our story about The H.L. Hunley.
For decades, I’ve referred to the bridge between the Isle of Palms and Sullivan’s
Island as the Breach Inlet Bridge. It is actually the H.L. Hunley Bridge, in honor
of the submarine that was deployed from Sullivan’s Island by the Confederacy
against the Union fleet in 1864. You can also read about the Sullivan’s Island
Farmers Market, Marshall Reservation and a salt business that was once located
on Sullivan’s Island.
Cross over the H.L Hunley Bridge and flip to
Isle Of Palms Magazine
. We
caught up with longtime resident Clay Cable, visited the Isle Of Palms Marina
and suggested the top 10 things vacationers might want to consider while staying
on the Island – and more, including an awesome story we published about
returning to the Isle Of Palms after Hurricane Hugo.
Isle Of Palms Magazine
and
Sullivan’s Island Magazine
make the perfect tour
guide. They are waiting in the South Carolina Welcome Centers so they can tell
visitors about our slice of paradise.
